l'escale restaurant is Hiring an Accountant Near Stamford, CT

Clearview Construction- the new construction arm of a well established Connecticut real estate development company Clearview Investment Management and hospitality management company Greenwich Hospitality Group is seeking a Sr. Construction Accountant to join their growing team.

The candidate will be responsible to set up a new system and manage the construction books of grounds up construction projects. The first two projects are the build out of Delamar Mystic Hotel and Delamar Westport Hotel, the two latest additions to the Delamar portfolio.

This is an incredible opportunity for a professional accountant with construction experience to join a new, energetic, fast paced construction company with plenty of growth opportunities within the Clearview Construction and the parent companies

RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE but not limited to :

· Independently manage books for two grounds up construction projects

· Setup new projects in system (preferably Sage – Timberline or Procore), add budgets, verify subcontractor prices match contracts.

· Enter, track and update change orders.

· Manage monthly applications with subcontractors, and monthly requisitions.

· Manage billing and payments to subcontractors.

· Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable.

· Run monthly Bank Reconciliations.

· Manage, prepare, and maintain monthly lien waivers.

· Research and solve invoice discrepancies

· Subcontractor administration

· Prepare (monthly) P&L statement and (quarterly) Balance Sheet.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:

The following responsibilities with the accounting department of the parent hospitality company may be added at times when construction accounting is slow or in-between projects:

· Provide accounting support to parent company with daily operations.

· Maintain accounts payable, bill processing, payments, and reports.

· Process expense reports and verifications for approvals.

· Assist with documentation for annual review and tax preparation.

· Manage Accounts Receivable.

· Bank Reconciliations.

· Analyze information by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.

· Ensuring efficacy and accuracy of records.

· Month end Journal entries

· Support finance/accounting as needed

· Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies to existing processes.

· Assist in wage/hour audits as needed.

· Other duties as required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 7 year construction accounting experience.
  • 5 years general accounting experience.
  • Excellent MS Excel Skills (must have) and working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Prior experience with Sage (Timberline) or Procore preferred.
  • Prior experience with AIA billing.
  • Prior experience with job costing, application management, submission of payment requisitions, purchase orders, change orders and lien waivers.
  • Ability to self-motivate and complete tasks with minimal support.
  • Knowledge of Data plus accounting software preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
